— The team behind oldr
If you have no will, your estate is divided according to the order of succession in the Swedish Inheritance Code. It is often not what people expect.
With a will, you decide for yourself within those limits. That is why it has to be written correctly – and keep up when life changes.
Most wills are written once and end up in a drawer. But life changes, and a will that does not keep up can produce a completely different outcome than you intended. oldr is the only will service in Sweden that monitors the will against authority data and notifies you when something needs to change.
With your BankID consent, oldr fetches details about family, home, vehicles and companies directly from the Swedish Tax Agency, the Land Registry, the Transport Agency and the Companies Registration Office. Nothing to look up or type in.
You describe what you want in your own words. AI helps you phrase it so the will gives exactly that outcome, and checks it against the Inheritance Code – the statutory share, for example.
No other will service in Sweden does this. oldr tracks the will against authority data. Get married, have a child, buy a home or start a company, and you are told what in the will is affected – before it becomes a problem.

A will that does not meet the formal requirements can be declared invalid. The estate is then divided as if the will did not exist.
The will must be a written document. A spoken wish or a text message is not enough. Only in emergencies, such as acute illness, is an oral will accepted – and only for a limited time.
You sign it yourself. You must be at least 18 – or 16 for property you are entitled to manage yourself – and understand what the will means.
Two witnesses must be present at the same time when you sign or confirm your signature. They sign as witnesses and must know it is a will, but do not need to know its contents.
Witnesses must be at least 15. Your spouse or partner, your children, grandchildren, parents and siblings cannot be witnesses. Nor can anyone who receives something through the will.
With your consent, oldr fetches details about your family and assets from the authorities.
You say who should receive what. AI phrases it and checks it against the Inheritance Code – for example that the children's statutory share remains.
You sign in front of two witnesses. oldr shows who can be a witness and how it is done.
oldr tracks the will against authority data and tells you when an event in your life affects it.
Many wills are simple: you want your partner to inherit, or a grandchild to receive something special. You can prepare that yourself with oldr.
If you own a company or property abroad, have children from a previous relationship, or want the inheritance to be separate property, it may be wise to get help. oldr then connects you with a law firm near you, and the lawyer receives the details you have already gathered.
Yes, if it meets the formal requirements of the Swedish Inheritance Code. You can prepare the text online, but the will must be in writing, signed by you and witnessed by two witnesses who are present at the same time. Today that means a signature on paper.
Yes. Two witnesses must be present at the same time when you sign. They must know the document is a will, but do not need to know what it says.
Anyone who is at least 15 and understands what witnessing means. Your spouse or partner, your children, grandchildren, parents and siblings cannot be witnesses. Nor can anyone who receives something through the will, or that person's closest family.
Then the estate is divided according to the order of succession in the Swedish Inheritance Code. Children inherit first. A spouse inherits before joint children, but a cohabiting partner inherits nothing without a will.
Yes, whenever you like. You write a new will with the same formal requirements or revoke the old one. oldr monitors the will against authority data and tells you when, for example, a marriage, a child or a home purchase affects it.
With your consent, oldr tracks records at authorities such as the Swedish Tax Agency and the Land Registry. When something changes that affects the will – marital status, children or property, for example – you get a message about what needs reviewing.
No. Children are always entitled to their statutory share (laglott), which is half of their legal share. The rest you can bequeath as you wish.
